WOW.
This was an insane week! To say alot happened in the last 7 days would be a huge understatement. It first started when we left the MTC (that literally seems like 2 months ago...) at 2:30AM on Monday morning. We hit all of our flights on time, and everything went fine in the air. Holdaway 자매님 and I sat beside the 2 nicest girls on the long flight from Dallas to Incheon. Yes everyone, Dallas was everything I hoped it would be! Pretty much just tons of people headed to all different corners of the Earth. Korea is insane. We got here on Tuesday afternoon, and President Morrise and his wife were waiting their to meet us with the other missionaries and the AP's. We got to take the subway to the mission home (about a 2 hour ride), then we were welcomed with an amazing Korean dinner made by Sister Morrise. Afterwards we passed out! 16 hours of flying will do that to you. I woke up at 4:45AM the next morning (lame jetlag), and we got all of our meetings and paperwork done. Then we got matched up with our Trainers. My trainer is Sister Partridge from Rigby, Idaho. She's an amazing pianist and loves jogging. (Contrary to popular belief, she doesn't love potatoes). Transfering to our new homes was a struggle! Luggage in subways is NO BUENO. That night I got settled in and kind of had many culture shock moments. The next day we got up and went to work. We went to find LA's, and walked over hill after hill. My area is absolutely full of hills, so my calves are going to look bomb after the mission. That night a member took us out for pizza! The following night we had dinner with a member and everyone loves stuffing us FULL OF FOOD! I was pretty much a typical "drunk" girl, and I threw up in the Subway station after dinner because I was SO sick after eating 3 plates of food that I had no idea what it was/it was insanely spicy. I can just imagine how proud my mom would be. Not. The next day was my companions birthday and now she's 20! Woo! We had english class that day, and it was so awesome. Afterwards their was a service project, cleaning up the church grounds, then a member invited us out for dinner for my comps birthday. That was the WORST decision we've ever made. It was 3 hours of being STUFFED FULL OF FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everytime we thought it would end.. it didn't. seriously. my worst nightmare is now that night. on sunday was ward conference and everyone was super awesome and kind. korean is really hard, but Im understanding a little of what everyone is saying. This is going to be a hard mission, but what mission isn't hard! I am really starting to understand the purpose of my mission as a humble servant of the Lord. I am a humble servant. LOVE ALWAYS PARCELLS 자매 ps, my bad about the pictures. the pc 방 where we email doesn't show the pictures before I load 'em First, my birthday was AWESOME!!
Seriously, I fully recommend everyone has their birthday in the MTC because it is both productive, and fun! the best of both worlds. Thank you to everyone who wished me a "Happy Birthday", sent me a gift or card or just prayed for me on June 4TH! I felt SO loved, and everyone just kept on saying "is that another package/card?" You are the BOMB DIGGITY! This week has been an especially good one because it is: 1) My last week on the same continent as you! 2) I turned 21, and I'm now a grandma 3) We had the best P-day EVER! This coming Monday I leave Provo at 2:30AM, than fly from Salt Lake to Dallas, then I fly from Dallas to Incheon, SK! I'm sooooooo excited and so nervous at the same time. Who thought 2 months could pass by without you even realizing it. Some things that I've learnt while at the MTC is confidence! One of my Korean teachers here always tells me: "Nobody will understand what you're saying in Korean, if you don't say it with confidence." This is SO true. I'm excited to head to Korea. Monday morning is going to come SO fast! I love ya'll SO much! PARCELLS 자매 XO |
