I only have 1 more week left of this MTC stuff!
Our time here is really starting to slow down here at the MTC, we aren't learning as quickly, the food is becoming almost inedible, and we are always just tired.
(same old, same old)
We are all SO excited to get out to KOREA!
This week, 15 new Korean-Speaking missionaries arrived at the MTC! They are SO lovely and great! 11 Elders and 4 Sisters, so it evens it out more with only our two Elders, Elder Barton and Elder Matthews.
Here goes the list:
We have the Sisters!
- Holt 자매 from Draper, Utah
- Reed 자매 from Provo, Utah
- Johnson 자매 from Northern Utah
-Olson 자매 from Thousand Oaks, California
*I got halfway through the Elders and realized, I don't know all of their names/where they're from so STAY TUNED...ha
This week we had another apostle come speak to us,
Elder Nelson.
His wife spoke about how being DESPERATE is a good thing. How desperation leads to immediate action. It was an amazing talk on how we, as missionaries, need to be desperate to:
1) Learn the Language, 2) Share the Gospel and 3) Build up our own Testimonies
Elder Nelson spoke on losing yourself in the work, on our true purpose as missionaries,
to invite OTHERS to come unto Christ.
(members, in-active members, everyone..)
This week was special because we are truly starting to realize this is the REAL DEAL.
We each came on our missions for different reasons, and we will all stay on our missions for different reasons, but our sole purpose is to remind people that "Hey, know when you did all the bad stuff, and you regret it?!"
Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ,
ALL
of that guilt, and pain and hurt can be erased.
You can feel the happiness of feeling pure and clean and blissful.
Not to be toooooo preachy for my non-lds friends but heres my testimony:
Since coming on a mission, I've truly come to realize what the heck my purpose is in life. I've always thought its to have great clothes, great makeup, the most friends, invited to the most parties. But I couldn't of been more wrong. What matters in this life, is how we treat people. How we look at life, in a positive-light. How we try and do as much GOOD in a day, even when we have the worst day ever, and everything from our hair to the people around us, are going wrong. I know that God loves me. I know that on Earth, I haven't been given the easiest, happiest life because if I had, I wouldn't be the person I am today, I wouldn't of grown into somebody who knows their purpose, who is striving to be nice to everyone around her,
who would now (shockingly enough),prefer reading outside in the sunshine to watching hours of Netflix.
We each have a purpose in this life.
FIND YOURS!
To wrap this bad boy up, I love ya'll so much. Nothing brings me greater joy than knowing the amazing friends and family I have back home cheering me on saying
"Go get'em Brooke!"
I love you all, stay safe and be KIND!
