First, Happy 54th Birthday DAD! You are sooooo old!!!!
This week was a really good week, filled with cold air (finally...thank heavens!), lots of member appointments and choir!
It started on Friday with lunch with the Bishop and his wife, then Saturday was English classes.
English classes mostly consist of people asking really strange, personal questions about us, or asking me how they can immigrate to Canada. Good times! Go Canada! Haha I loooove that people come to English class though. They are such interesting people with very diverse backgrounds. One guy is preparing to become a diplomat, another is a Korean grandma who is sooo sarcastic and hilarious.
Next was our ward activity!
What did your Saturday night consist of?! I don't think it was nearly as exciting as mine!
SPAGHETTI AND CHECKERS!
We helped set up tables and served spaghetti and parsley bread to the grandparents of our ward, then we all got down to play checkers. This is no ordinary checkers game. They keep score, and there is literally a skill to playing.. As I was shown by the old folks of my ward. They had a bunch of tables of checkers set up, but in the middle of the room there was one "formal" board, that was being filmed so you could get a piece of the "Winners Circle". It was one of the best nights I've had in Korea, and I even went home with a travel pack of essentials (shampoo, conditioner, etc.)!!!
Then comes Sunday.
We go to church at 8 am for some meetings, but church actually starts at 10 am. Our investigator came!!!! And I met a new girl that is Chinese!! She is a linguistics major, so she's fluent in English, and she's super nice. After church was choir.
All of you that know me know that 3 hours of choir is literally torture for me, but it wasn't that bad! We got to take a break and eat Ramen too! So yay!
My week was filled with miracles that can only be shared in person, so anticipate good stories in a year!
I love you all so much! Thank you for your continued support!
Love, Sister P
